Solving Complex problems

  • Description: Complex problem solving involves breaking down a problem into manageable parts and then analysing each part to determine how they are connected. It also involves understanding the implications of potential solutions, considering the consequences of any action, and evaluating the effectiveness of each solution.
  • Leading Game: Move-It.
Move-It is a puzzle game. In the game, the player is presented with challenges of increasing difficulty and must identify the set of moves that will lead to a solution. Despite the simple rules of the game, the levels of the game are challenging and stimulate thinking about how to solve problems. The game is characterized by having one central factor that we must find to reach a solution. We call this factor the Core of the Problem.

Flexible Thinking

  • Description: The ability to maintain consistent performance and adapt to changes requires a certain level of flexibility in thinking. This means being able to adjust our thought processes and behaviours in response to unexpected or unpredictable situations.
Flexible thinking allows us to approach problems and challenges from multiple angles, consider alternative solutions, and adapt to changing circumstances. It also helps us to recognize patterns and identify new opportunities

Coping with changes

MaxIt is a two-player strategy game played on an 8×8 square board. The board is randomly filled with numbers and a star is placed on one of the squares. One player plays in the rows and the other in the columns. The objective of the game is to collect more points than the opponent by selecting squares that maximize the sum of their numbers. However, players must also anticipate and adapt to a constantly changing board, adding a layer of complexity to the game that requires planning and strategy.

Pattern recognition

  • Description: Pattern recognition is the automated recognition of patterns and regularities in data, which can then be used to classify and cluster data. It has applications in a wide range of fields and it can be used to identify objects in images, detect anomalies in data, and classify natural language.

Resourcefulness

  • Description: Resourcefulness is the ability to use creative and innovative approaches to solve problems, often in situations where resources are limited or scarce.
