The BBBEE Champions & Compliance short course is designed to empower professionals involved in transformation, compliance, and organisational development with the skills and knowledge necessary to ensure adherence to Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) legislation and other legal requirements applicable in South Africa. It is tailored for managers, supervisors, transformation officers, BBBEE staff, and professionals responsible for ensuring compliance with national regulations and company policies.

This course demystifies complex legal and compliance-related concepts, providing a practical and accessible overview of:BBBEE and legal compliance frameworks: learners will understand the fundamental principles of BBBEE, its objectives, and how to apply them effectively in various workplace contexts.Relevant legislation, standards, and codes of practice: participants will learn to identify and interpret laws and regulations such as the Employment Equity Act, Companies Act, and Labour Relations Act, and how these integrate with BBBEE strategy.An introduction to South African law, including the SARS compliance model, and how tax and corporate governance regulations impact organisational compliance.

The course also explores what compliance means, the factors that influence it, and how to effectively categorise and record compliance data for internal auditing and external review. Participants will gain tools for assessing the level of compliance within a unit or department, evaluating the risks of non-compliance, and formulating practical solutions to address any legal or procedural gaps.
